What an interesting weekend! Well, not so interesting as it was busy. Friday started out well, good intentions by yours truly to complete all the tasks I had appointed by myself or by others. Unfortunately I ended up missing one task, a lab, that was appointed to me by the overlord of audio Bob Simmons. As anyone who really knows me is aware, I’m an ultra busy guy. I have my regular Monday radio show, 7-9, on CJ106 (Stream online at Cj106-assinaboine.net) , my regular job at superstore 3 nights a week, then generally Friday night I gun it, and by gun I mean travel obeying all laws of the road, out (250km) to the bustling metropolis of Winkler Manitoba to man the wheel of the mighty 1570 CKMW. So how does this all tie in with me missing a lab on Friday? Just chill out there kid! I’ll get to that!
Well it generally causes me to get back into town late Sunday night, extremely tired. So that was even more the case last week, then, for the remainder of the week, I experience insomnia like symptoms, something I’ve battle off and on over the years, for the rest of the week. Again, this ties together Friday how???? Weelllllll!!!! I went home Friday at lunch to service a certain intestinal requirement whose needs far surpassed those of the audio realm. Then I deceied, hmmm, Dianne’s class is cancelled today, maybe I’ll have lunch then go back for my pro tools lab at 2:30. I filled up a pot with water and set it on medium low on the stove. I figured I’d have some noodles. Anyway, I retired to the couch where I layed down, figuring whats the harm?!?
Bam! Time elapsed! I startled, like a child who believes he/she/it missed Christmas. I looked at my trusty battle worn Samsung phone to reinforce my fears, 3:45……Suddenly I was like Dane Cook, I was trying to come up with plausible excusses. “ummm Bob, did you hear about the circus animals that took those people hostage??” “I was one of those people!! “The Gazelles were dancing on my chest”. In the end, I decided the truth was the best method, so today, they day of Bob unmerciful test, I must go after and beg forgiveness from the Audio overlord and also beg for the opportunity to make up this mistake.
